Why keep things controversial? Because what appears to be settled or worked out or solved, is in fact just a settlement; that is, the settlement is either in someone else's interest, or is of no interest at all to the people whose ideas are used to create it.

What is the point of a map? A map helps to see what the relations are that form up into what appears to be settled.

What is artificial staging (AS)? AS is the process of unsettling, where knowledge interests are brought to bear to solve real world problems and participants are those who remain effected by solutions.

What is a diffractive map? A diffractive map is one that is used to see the effects of what appear to be settled differences, and a resource for disturbing those effects- it is both descriptive and disruptive. So, it is always changing as it effects what it describes.
